Perceptive Parallel Processes Coordinating Geometry and Texture

چکیده
Finding and classifying specific objects is a key part in most of the tasks autonomous systems could face. Properly being able to reach objects and find their exact location is very important for successfully achieving higher level robotic behaviors. To perform full object detection and recognition tasks in a wide environment several perception approaches need to be brought together to achieve a good performance. In this paper we present a dual parallel system for object finding in wide environments. Our system implements two main parts. One texture based approach for wide scenes, composed by a Multimodal Deep Learning Neural Network and a syntactic distribution based parser. And another specific geometry based process, using three dimensional data and geometry constrains to look for specific objects and their position within a whole scene. Both systems run in parallel and compliment each other to fulfill an object search and locate task. The major contribution of this paper consists on the success of combining texture and geometry based solutions running in parallel and sharing information in real time to allow a full generic solution to be able to find almost any present object in a wide environment. To validate our system we test it with real environment data injected into a simulated environment. We test 25 tasks in a household environment obtaining a 92% overall success rate finally delivering the correct position of the object.

ParLeda is a software library that provides the basic primitives needed for parallel implementation of computational geometry applications. It can also be used in implementing a parallel application that uses geometric data structures. The parallel model that we use is based on a new heterogeneous parallel model named HBSP, which is based on BSP and is introduced here. ParLeda uses two main lib...
متن کاملEvolution of texture in an ultrafine and nano grained magnesium alloy
The evolution of texture was discussed during the formation of ultra-fine and nano grains in a magnesium alloy severely deformed through accumulative back extrusion (ABE). The microstructure and texture obtained after applying multiple deformation passes at temperatures of 100 and 250°C were characterized. The results showed that after single ABE pass at 100°C an ultrafine/nano grained microstr...
متن کاملReview of techniques for improving the uniformity of dose distribution in total body irradiation (TBI) with parallel – opposed anterior and posterior geometry
Total body irradiation (TBI) is a kind of external beam radiotherapy which is used in conjunction with chemotherapy with the purpose of immunosuppression before bone marrow transplantation. As recommended by AAPM dose distribution uniformity in TBI is very important and dose variation must be within ±10% of prescription dose. Patients treatment geometry for TBI techniques fall into two co...
متن کاملREVERSE LOOP SUBDIVISION FOR GEOMETRY AND TEXTURES
Reverse subdivision aims at constructing a coarser representation of an object given by a fine polygon mesh. In this paper, we first derive a mask for reverse Loop subdivision that can be applied to both regular and extraordinary vertices. The mask is parameterized, and thus can also be used in reversing variants of Loop subdivision, such as those proposed by Warren and Litke. We apply this mas...

Abstract mathematical theory of an observer is elaborated upon the basis of A.Poincare’s ideas on the nature of geometry and the role of observer’s perceptive space. The said theory is generalizing reference frames theory in GR. Physical structure (P-structure) and corresponding physical geometry (P-geometry) notions, representing properties invariance of some physical objects and their relatio...
